Recognized as the premiere radiation treatment facility in the Four-State Area, St. John's Radiation Oncology Department features two linear accelerators equipped with multi-leaf collimators. Prostate seed implantation, a convenient, outpatient procedure for the treatment of prostate cancer is a form of brachytherapy used at St. John's.
Precise planning is required for radiation therapy treatment. St. John's offers three-dimensional treatment planning with Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) capabilities to assist the radiation oncologist in optimizing the patient's treatment plan.
