St. John’s Goes Pink This October

Update 9/30/09 – Our lighting ceremony to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month set for October, 1 at 7 p.m. has been moved from the Courtyard to the Main Lobby because of the weather forecast.

Joplin, Mo. – St. John’s Regional Medical Center is celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month throughout October. Join us October 1 at 7:00 p.m. in the St. John’s Courtyard to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event will feature music from Piper White, guest speakers, pink ribbon tree ceremony and refreshments. The October events planned are designed to celebrate breast cancer survivors, remember those who have lost their lives to breast cancer and increase breast cancer awareness.
October’s Events
- October 1 – 31 St. John’s glows PINK
- campus lights will be pink for the entire month
- “Fight Like a Girl” sweatshirts will be sold
- proceeds will go to St. John’s Mercy Regional Foundation to support St. John’s Breast Center
- Every Friday employees will wear PINK
- Breast Cancer Awareness Quilt on display
- October 1 Lighting Ceremony
- Light campus in pink for October
- Pink ribbon tree ceremony
- Music from Piper White
- October 10 Columbus Days Parade
- Mobile Mammography Unit will participate
- October 17 Carthage Maple Leaf Parade
