Joplin, Mo. – St. John’s Regional Medical Center will once again offer its Health Careers Club for area high school students. The next meeting will be held September 30 at 6 p.m. in the Mercy Conference Center. The purpose of this club is to educate local students about career opportunities in the health care field. The club meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m. in the Mercy Conference Center. Students will hear presentations from physicians, nurses, technicians and other hospital staff.
Areas of focus for the presentations include:
- Educational requirements for the speaker’s field
- A typical work day for the speaker
- Career opportunities within the speaker’s field
- Tour or demonstrations as applicable
We are pleased that we can offer students real insight into many different health careers and what their future can be like in them,” said Tracy Clark, St. John’s director of health information and Club sponsor.
**We would like to invite all media to attend the first meeting, September 30 at 6 p.m. in the Mercy Conference Center. Please call Miranda Lewis to set up an interview.
