RESCHEDULED - SportsCare Hosts 5th Annual Scholar Athlete Award Banquet

The SportsCare Scholar Athlete Award Banquet Event from Friday has been rescheduled. It will be held Tuesday, May 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Butcher’s Block Banquet Center. Please contact Miranda Lewis, Media / Promotions Coordinator at 417.625.2260 with any questions.
The SportsCare’s Scholar Athlete Banquet scheduled for Friday, May 8th has been postponed due to the weather. Please check back to find out when it has been rescheduled.
Joplin, Mo. – St. John’s SportsCare will recognize the talents of local athletes from 27 area high schools at the 5th Annual St. John’s SPORTSCare Scholar Athlete Award Banquet. The event will be held on May 8 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at The Butchers Block, 499 W. Fountain Road, Joplin.
The event will recognize a male and female athlete from each high school. Schools represented include: Carthage, College Heights, Columbus, Commerce, Diamond, East Newton, Frontenac, Galena, Joplin, McAuley, McDonald County, Neosho, Northeast, Pittsburg, Quapaw, Riverton, Sarcoxie, Seneca, Southeast, St. Mary’s Colgan, Thomas Jefferson and Webb City, among others.
The students were nominated by a SPORTSCare panel and selected by their respective school officials. Students, parents, school athletic directors and principles are invited to attend.
Our featured speaker is Grant Wistrom, former Webb City, University of Nebraska, St. Louis Rams and Seattle Seahawks football player. He will speak about the importance of having a balance in your studies and athletic competition. Wistrom will speak at 12:30.
