St. John’s Announces New HealthFirst Executive Director

Shelly Hunter - Executive Director for HealthFirstJoplin, Mo. – St. John’s Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that Shelly Hunter, vice-president strategy and business development has assumed the additional role of executive director for HealthFirst, St. John’s physician network.

Hunter has been instrumental in the development of business plans and market strategy for the hospital and its entities. In this new role, she will work with the HealthFirst board, staff and physicians in creating an integrated business plan that will better align with the hospital’s physicians and services.

Hunter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration. Hunter currently serves as president of the Show-Me of Missouri Chapter of Healthcare Financial Managers Association (HFMA). In addition, she is president of the board of directors for the Joplin office of National Adult Literacy Action, a volunteer member of Joplin Chamber of Commerce committees and a member of United Way Women’s Leadership Group. Hunter is also currently a member of the advisory board of the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development.
