STJ’s Mercy Regional Foundation Sponsors Doctoberfest

Joplin, Mo. - St. John’s Mercy Regional Foundation presents Doctoberfest, Celebrating Our Medical Community, Friday and Saturday, October 3 and 4, at Twin Hills Golf and Country Club.  Doctoberfest is a weekend celebration designed to highlight our medical community and raise money to fund programs and purchase capital equipment.  The event includes a Golf Classic on Friday, October 3 and a fall dinner on Saturday, October 4, which will feature music, dancing and unique auction items.

The Doctoberfest Golf Classic will feature a four-person scramble shotgun starts in the morning at 7:30 a.m. and afternoon at 1:00 p.m.  The cost is $100 per player or $400 for a team of four, which includes green fees, cart and lunch.  The hole in one prize is a 2009 Honda Civic, sponsored by Roper Honda of Joplin.  There will also be a chipping clinic in the afternoon featuring legendary PGA tour instructor Marshall Smith.  Golfers of all experience levels, both men and women, are encouraged to participate.  Call the Foundation at 625.2266 to register a team.

The Doctoberfest Dinner and Dance will be on Saturday, October 4 at Twin Hills.  The social hour will begin at 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 7:00 p.m. Dancing will follow with music provided by Tim Wampler.  Cost is $50 per person or $400 for a table for eight.
