St. John’s Announces Walk for Hospice and Home Health Winners

“Maudie’s Gang” (pictured) was awarded the First Place Team Trophy at the 26th Annual St. John’s Walk for Hospice and Home Health, held Saturday, September 13, on the campus of MSSU. Second place was awarded to Oncology and Hematology Center, P.C. - Drs. Skelley, LaFrancis and Croy and the St. John’s Information Technology Team finished third overall. This year’s walk raised nearly $19,500 to benefit hospice and home health patient care.

“Maudie’s Gang”, representing St. John’s Maude Norton Memorial Hospital in Columbus, KS, also took home the St. John’s Trophy of Hope, a traveling trophy awarded to the St. John’s department that raised the most money. Oncology and Hematology Center, P.C. - Drs. Skelley, LaFrancis and Croy received the Trophy of Hope in the Professional Services category and the MSSU Respiratory Therapy Team was the School Trophy of Hope winner.

More than 100 walkers and volunteers were treated to a picnic lunch and prizes after the Walk. The Walk is an annual fund-raiser to support St. John’s Hospice and Home Health. St. John’s Hospice is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to providing care and services for the terminally ill and their families. St. John’s Home Health services include skilled nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, nurse aides, social services and occupational therapy provided
in the patient’s home.
