St. John’s Hosts Open House For New MRI
8/18/2008
Joplin, Mo. – St. John’s Regional Medical Center will host an open house to feature its new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) unit. The celebration will be held in the lower level of the St. John’s Medical Office Building in the Outpatient Services Lobby on Wednesday, August 20 at 2 p.m.
The new 1.5 Tesla (a unit of measurement that indicates the strength of its magnetic field) MRI unit combines state-of-the-art image quality and revolutionary acquisition speed that will provide a new level of innovative diagnostic imaging. High-resolution images and faster scanning will enable St. John’s to better serve patients in the four-state area.
The ultra short magnet gantry will provide a more comfortable examination environment than ever before. The new MRI has the largest opening available and is only the second in the United States of its size in use.
The new MRI will provide more comprehensive information to our physicians, thus enabling them to make rapid treatment decisions.
The St. John’s Medical Office Building is located at 2817 McClelland Boulevard and the Outpatient entrance is on the south side of the building.
**All media are invited to attend the celebration. Tours will be given and refreshments will be served.
