St. John’s HealthFirst Welcomes New
Vice-President of Government Affairs
St. John’s HealthFirst is pleased to announce the addition of R. Scott Watson to the team. He will serve as the Vice-President of Government Affairs. In this role, Mr. Watson will be responsible for promoting community and governmental alignment with St. John’s Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Watson received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Agriculture, with honors, from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He then went on to earn a Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law.
Most recently, Mr. Watson was the Prosecuting Attorney for Newton County. Prior to his work as Prosecuting Attorney, Mr. Watson had his own private practice, served as Corporate Counsel for New-Mac Electric Cooperative in Neosho, Mo. and was an Adjunct Instructor in Hospitality Law at Crowder College in Neosho, Mo.
In addition to his education, Mr. Watson has been honored with a variety of awards and accolades. Some of those designations include the Friend of Law Enforcement Award (2006), Mother’s Against Drunk Driving Outstanding Prosecutor in the State (1994, 2005) and Harry S. Truman Scholar for Public Service. He was the founder and president of Choppers4Children and president of the Missouri Prosecutor’s Training Council.
