St. John’s Wins Three Patient Satisfaction Awards

JOPLIN, MO – St. John’s Regional Medical Center recently won three Excellence through Insight awards for Patient Satisfaction for Large Hospitals (250+ beds) given by HealthStream Research.

St. John’s was awarded this honor for its commitment to excellence in patient care. To qualify for an award, a hospital must have been a patient satisfaction-tracking client of HealthStream Research in 2006, scored in the 75th Percentile or higher, and surveyed a minimum of 100 patients per unit. St. John’s was chosen for receiving the highest ratings in three categories among HealthStream Research’s clients, as well as exceeding industry standards in the categories of:

  • Overall Inpatient Satisfaction – Large Hospitals (250+ beds);
  • Medical Floor (4-West);
  • Outpatient Oncology (Radiation Therapy).

St. John’s will be recognized during a formal awards ceremony at the HealthStream Annual Conference on Oct. 21-23, 2007, in Nashville, TN. HealthStream is a leading provider of learning and research solutions for the healthcare industry. HealthStream represents approximately 1,100 of all U.S. Hospitals, which account for nearly a quarter of all acute-care facilities in the United States.

This recognition from HealthStream research is just the latest in national-level recognition for excellence by St. John’s. This spring, St. John’s was named for a second 100 Top hospital award by Thomson Healthcare, a leading provider of information and solutions to improve the cost and quality of healthcare. In November of last year, Thomson Healthcare named St. John’s a 100 Top Cardiovascular Hospital. Most recently, St. John’s received its third Thomson Healthcare 100 Top Hospitals award in the area of Performance Improvement Leaders.
