St. John’s SportsCare Honors High School Athletes

St. John’s SportsCare is recognizing the talents of local athletes from 26 area high schools. The 4th Annual Scholar Athlete Award Banquet is being held in their honor on May 7, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at The Butchers Block, 499 W. Fountain Road, Joplin.

A male and a female athlete from each high school will be recognized at the event. Schools represented include: Baxter Springs, Carl Junction, Carthage, College Heights, Columbus, Commerce, Diamond, East Newton, Frontenac, Galena, Joplin, McAuley, McDonald County, Neosho, Northeast, Pittsburg, Quapaw, Riverton, Sarcoxie, Seneca, Southeast, St. Mary’s Colgan, Thomas Jefferson and Webb City among others.

The students were nominated by a SportsCare panel and selected by their respective school officials. Students, parents, school athletic directors and principals are invited to attend.

Our featured speaker is Bill Dierks, Physical Therapist with St. John's Regional Medical Center and former University of Missouri football player. He will speak about how life can change your plans. Bill Dierks will speak at 12:00 noon.
