St. John’s Honors Nurses With Day Of Celebration

St. John’s Regional Medical Center will honor its nurses with an activity-filled day. The festivities will be held throughout the day on Thursday, May 8, in the Mercy Conference Center.

St. John’s nurses will begin their day with breakfast served by St. John’s physicians from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. There will be a reception with hors d’oeuvres from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The pampering will continue with such services as:

  • Head / neck / back massages (6 a.m. – 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.)
  • Hand / foot massages (6 a.m. – 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.)
  • Hand waxing (6 a.m. – 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.)
  • Facials (6 a.m. – 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.)

In addition, nurses will receive a gift, which will be delivered by managers and directors. “Awesome Nurse” cards will be on display in the Mercy Conference Center. People who wish to share a story of a positive experience they have shared with a nurse fill out these cards.

National Nurses’ Week begins on May 6 and ends on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightengale, founder of nursing as a modern profession.

**We would like to invite all media to the Mercy Conference Center at 2:00 p.m. for our celebration.
