St. John's Welcomes New Board Members
St. John’s welcomes our newest board members. Sister Jeanne Christensen and Dr. Anthony Greenwood will replace Sister Jeanine Salak and Dr. Frederic Wheeler, respectively.
Sister Jeanne Christensen, R.S.M. is the Project Coordinator with the Sisters of Mercy-West Midwest Community, and resides in Kansas City, Mo. She was a founding member of and currently serves on the Board of Directors for VERONICA’S Voice in Kansas City, Mo.
Christensen also serves on the Visioning Committee of the Kansas City Olive Branch (a virtual peace and justice community) and the Ecumenical-Interreligious Commission of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph. She is also a chairperson of the McAuley Ministry Fund Oversight Committee for Sisters of Mercy Omaha Regional Community and a member of the Center of Concern’s Education for Justice Network.
Christensen earned a BA in Sociology from the College of St. Mary in Omaha, Neb.; a MA in Educational Media from University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Co.; a MSW in Social Work from George Warren Brown School of Social Work Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.
Anthony Greenwood, D.D.S. will serve as ex-officio for his term. He currently has a private dental practice in Baxter Springs, Ks., which he has had for over 25 years. He serves on the Joplin Area Catholic Schools Development Board and the St. John’s Mercy Health Foundation Board, where he served as chairman for three of his ten years of membership.
Dr. Greenwood attended St. Agnes High School in Springfield, Mo., and graduated from Southwest Missouri State University with his undergraduate degree. He attended the UMKC School of Dentistry, where he obtained his graduate degree.
