St. John’s Honored For Excellence in Statewide Competition

St. John’s Regional Medical Center has received statewide recognition for a public relations project that the hospital produced this year to educate and inform community and area residents about breast cancer awareness.

The Show-Me Excellence Awards, presented annually by the Missouri Association for Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing (MAHPRM), recognize high achievement and superb quality in advertising, marketing and public relations projects produced by hospitals and health care systems throughout the state.

The awards were presented at the Missouri Hospital Association’s 85th Annual Convention and Trade Show in November. A statewide panel of public relations and marketing professionals judged the 275 entries in this year’s competition.

We’re honored that the work of St. John’s has been selected to receive this statewide recognition,” said David Morris, director of marketing.

The awards competition was established by MAHPRM in 1981 and is the only Missouri competition dedicated to hospital and health care public relations and communications efforts. With 21 categories, the competition included projects in media relations, advertising, publications, writing, photography, marketing and public relations.

St. John's Regional Medical Center is a 367-bed facility, serving 19 counties in Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas, providing state-of-the-art healthcare services, specializing in cardiology, orthopedics, neurosciences, and oncology. St. John’s has been leading the way in healthcare throughout the four-state area for more than 100 years and has earned the Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
