St. John’s Announces Heroes In Healthcare Program
St. John's Mercy Regional Foundation in Joplin, MO is pleased to announce the inaugural gift to Heroes In Healthcare, a program honoring healthcare excellence. The gift has been received in memory of Dr. Patrick Doody from his friends and family.
“It is very fitting that we are able to launch this new Heroes In Healthcare program with a gift in memory of Dr. Doody,” said Sr. Corita Holmes, RSM with St. John’s Pastoral Care. “He truly exemplified a Healthcare Hero at St. John’s and to the whole community.”
Heroes in Healthcare is a program that encourages grateful patients, families and friends to recognize and honor extraordinary caregivers at St. John’s Regional Medical Center by making a donation to honor their Healthcare Heroes.
Nominees may be any employee, physician, or volunteer who has provided exceptional care or service or demonstrated exceptional dedication or sensitivity at any St. John’s Regional Medical Center facility. Hero nominations may be made for an individual, group, department or team.
Donors may make a tax-deductible contribution to the St. John’s Mercy Regional Foundation in the name of a special St. John’s Hero by contacting the Foundation directly at 417-625-2266.
Upon receipt of the donation, the Foundation will notify the Hero of their recognition and honor them with a distinctive Heroes in Healthcarepin at a special ceremony among their co-workers. Funds from the Heroes In Healthcare program will go toward unmet needs within St. John’s Regional Medical Center as determined with the input from the Employee Foundation Committee.
“This is a terrific program”, according to Jennifer Kennally, CEO for St. John’s Mercy Regional Foundation. “This will give us the opportunity to not only recognize and honor extraordinary patient care but will also enable the Foundation to address healthcare priorities in the community.”
