LPGA Golf Player comes to Joplin for Memorial Tournament

The St. John's SportsCare Lori Pflug Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament will bring current LPGA player, Meredith Duncan to Joplin. The tournament is set for October 20, 2006 at Loma Linda North Golf Course with a tee time of 8:00 a.m. Duncan will be available to interact with players and provide golf tips on the course. She will also be speaking to participants after lunch around 1:00 p.m.

Meredith Duncan Career Highlights:

2000:  Women’s Western Champion, Honorable mention All-American, 1st team All-SEC, All-SEC Academic Team
2001U.S. Women’s Amateur Champion, Women’s Western Champion, Women’s North & South Amateur Champion, Golfweek Magazine Female Amateur of the Year, L.S.U. Female Athlete of the year, 2nd team All-American, 1st team ALL-SEC.
2006: Played in 20 LPGA events and had her first career Top 10 finish at the Longs Drug Challenge.

Lori Pflug was an athletic trainer for St. John’s SportsCare who tragically passed away on February 18th, 2006 after a battle with cancer. Previous to her employment with St. John’s Lori was active with the LPGA, U.S. Olympics and many more organizations. All proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the Missouri Southern Foundation as an endowment in Lori’s name. These funds will be dispersed in the form of scholarships for Missouri Southern students who are interested in the field of Athletic Training.
