St. John’s Celebrates Epiphany With
“Gifts of Health to the Community”
St. John’s Regional Medical Center celebrates Epiphany by recognizing its employees for their hard work and dedication to the community. The celebration is timed to coincide with the date of the arrival of the magi in Bethlehem or Feast of Epiphany, 12 days after the birth of Jesus. Departments such as Referral One and St. John’s Student Nurse Extern Program are being recognized for their gifts to the community.
St. John’s is deeply committed to our mission to "emphasize human dignity and social justice as we move towards the creation of healthier communities." Our long history of serving all who need healthcare services, illustrates our dedication to the communities we serve.
St. John’s aligns its contributions to the community or community benefits with identified needs and health priorities. We plan, track and report benefit services that are offered without charge or with insufficient revenue. Not-for-profit organizations (501 (c)3) have a responsibility to offer service that benefit their communities sufficient to reflect what would be their tax burden if they were a for-profit corporation.
“As we celebrate Epiphany, it seems most appropriate to celebrate the staff for the everyday practical gifts they give to the people of this area. The care they give is representative of the type of caring that has been part of the St. John’s culture throughout its history,” said Terry Wachter, Vice-President of Mission and Ministry at St. John’s.
**St. John’s will recognize these gifts at a celebration on January 7 at 2 p.m. in the Main Lobby. Refreshments will also be served. We invite all media to attend our celebration in recognition of these gifts.
