St. John’s Offers Education on Advance Directives

St. John’s Regional Medical Center will celebrate National Healthcare Decisions Day by providing the public an educational session on advance directives. The event will be held on Tuesday, April 15, at 5:30 p.m. in the Mercy Conference Center.

Those who attend the session will learn about the types of advance directives and how to complete the necessary documents. Advance directive forms will be available and completed forms can be notarized on the spot.

St. John’s appreciates the importance of advance medical directives and is offering this service to help educate the public on the issue. St. John’s Pastoral Care staff will present the educational session and will be available to answer any questions that arise.

“We want to allow everyone in our community to have the opportunity to learn about the significance of an advance directive,” Brian Giebler, St. John’s Chaplain said. “We want to educate people on the growing need for advance directives and give them tools to communicate their wishes.”
