New Machine save time for patients

St. John’s Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce the addition of the Kodak Direct View DR9000 X-Ray Machine for use in our Trauma Center. The state-of-the-art technology allows our medical staff to take an x-ray and send it to our PACS system in a matter of seconds. It takes just 45 seconds from the time the image is taken to the time it appears on the monitor. This allows the image to be sent to other computers within the hospital system as well.

“The biggest benefit to the patients is time and when you’re talking about a trauma, that’s life or death,” says Tony Mitchell, Trauma Program Manager at St. John’s. He explains that this machine is one more step to cut down on a patient’s time in the ER, before they go to the operating room. “This allows our physicians to enhance the overall treatment of our patients,” adds Mitchell.
