December 5, 2005

(Joplin, MO) – St. John’s Regional Medical Center announces the appointment of Debbie Linnes, Chief Operating Officer, as interim Chief Executive Officer following the resignation of Gary Rowe last week. Linnes will assume the interim role as the CEO effective February 1, 2006, following Rowe’s departure.

Linnes has worked as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for St. John’s since July of 2003. Prior to her employment in Joplin, she served as Senior Vice President of Patient Services at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado (SCLSC System) and Vice President of Clinical Services at Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria, California (Catholic Healthcare West).

Linnes says she is looking forward to this new role and the ability to work with Mr. Rowe to facilitate a smooth transition. “I’m excited about the partnership with our medical staff and community as we move forward in our mission and healing ministry. St. John’s is an exceptional organization and a premier regional healthcare provider.”

Linnes has played a key role in St. John’s successful growth and development over the last couple of years. She says, “Organizations grow as they adapt to the changing environment and respond to the needs of the community. One of my primary roles will be to ensure that we continue to advance the initiatives that are contributing to our recent growth and success.”
