St. John’s offers FREE hearing aid cleanings and consults

April 25, 2006

St. John's Regional Medical Center is pleased to offer FREE hearing aid cleanings and audiology consults to the general public on Thursday, April 27th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at our Medical Group office in Carthage, located at 1615 Hazel.

Hearing aids are the most common tools used to help restore hearing and there are new advances in technology every day. Patients should become skilled at using their hearing aid. Specialists recommend that patients learn how to use it and how to clean it. Practice inserting and removing it. And audiologists can make the appropriate adjustments.

“Using hearing aids successfully takes time and patience,” says Sandra Williams, St. John’s Audiologist. “Adjusting to a hearing aid is a gradual process that involves learning to listen in a variety of environments and becoming accustomed to hearing different sounds. That’s why this service is so important and recommended to anyone with a hearing aid.”
