St. John’s announces new plans for
19th Annual Life Fair

Famous Guest Speaker will be Jerry Lewis

St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, MO is proud to announce some changes to the 19th annual Life Fair. “It’s a whole new ball game”…as we have changed the time, format and feel of the past Heart Fair, usually held in January. This year, it will be held on April 8th, 2006 at John Q. Hammons Convention Center in Joplin. The event is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. All activities are free to the public. St. John’s Life Fair offers activities and information on overall health as well as educational seminars, screenings, and informational booths.

The legendary Jerry Lewis is scheduled to speak at this year’s event from 12:15 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. His motion pictures, television shows, stage performances, recordings, radio programs, books, and personal appearances, have brought his unique humor and creativity to every corner of the globe. Jerry has received a Nobel Peace Prize nomination for his work with Muscular Dystrophy. He was inducted into the Broadcast Hall of Fame by the National Association of Broadcasters, and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from The American Comedy Awards. A dream of Jerry's had always been to play "Broadway." He achieved that goal in 1995, when he starred in “Damn Yankees” with 185 performances.
One of Jerry's lifetime loves is the game of baseball. During the 1950's and 60's Jerry played first base with numerous professional baseball teams and trained every year with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
