Orthopaedics
Computer Assisted Joint Replacements
The Total Joint Team at St. John's Center for Orthopaedic Care has dedicated health care professionals whose main goal is to provide relief of chronic pain and improve mobility for patients seeking treatment. Each patient is evaluated by an orthopaedic surgeon, and if total joint replacement is recommended, patients/families are prepared. Prior to surgery, all patients are encouraged to attend an intensive pre-operative educational session, which allows each professional discipline an opportunity to instruct the patient regarding his/her particular surgery (total hip or total knee replacement). Each patient's treatment plan is customized to meet individual needs. A nurse case manager follows all patients through the continuum of care. The orthopaedic team's ultimate goal is to relieve pain and restore as much functional independence as possible.
