How would you like to cut 17 thousand calories in one month, by doing just one simple thing. It’s possible by cutting your liquid calories – the calories you drink. Take for instance, that mocha you drink every morning, a couple of sodas or sweet tea in the afternoon and a glass of wine in the evening. That’s over 600 calories a day, 4200 a week and 17,000 a month. And calories saved translate into potential pounds lost. In this case, that’s 5 pounds a month.

Attention smokers and other tobacco users. Here’s some important information for you to be aware of, the next time you visit your doctor or the hospital. A new state mandate goes into effect today at all Missouri hospital campuses. Starting today, you will no longer be able to use tobacco products on any hospital campus, including parking lots, doctors clinics and outlying facilities. The new rule applies to patients, visitors, employees, and physicians. Some hospitals in Kansas and Oklahoma are also complying with the new state requirement. For more information about the new rule and your options as a patient and visitor, go to stj.com
