St. John's HealthMinute

1/12/2006

Tired of trying to keep track of all the so-called superfoods you're supposed to eat? Then don’t. Researchers say all those breathless headlines, about what antioxidants can and can't do – just make it more confusing. You really don’t need to know that oregano packs 42 times more antioxidants than apples, or that cooked tomatoes may prevent prostate cancer. Instead, focus on balance, moderation and variety. After all, the five major food groups we learned about years ago – are not all that bad - in moderation.

If you haven’t had your flu shot this year, it’s not too late. Researchers say the flu is hitting later this year, and your window of opportunity is still open. If you get vaccinated today, you’ll be protected within two weeks. The flu shot was hard to find a few months back, but look no further. St. John’s Workpartners and Express Care have flu shots available NOW. For more information contact St. John’s Referral One at 625-2000
