St. John's HealthMinute

Are you feeling end-of-summer sniffles coming on? Be sure to get enough sleep, wash your hands often and eat a daily bowl of yogurt. A recent study found that women who got a ½ to 1 cup of the creamy stuff each day for one month produced more active germ-fighting white blood cells. That equals a stronger immune system. And here’s a bonus, one cup of yogurt contains nearly 50 percent of your daily calcium needs.

Here’s a great tip if you are like me and hear the company vending machine calling your name. Try keeping two pieces of fruit on your desk. It’s a visual reminder that you need to eat every three or four hours to keep your energy up throughout the day. And for an extra energy boost, spread a little peanut butter on apples.
